Volkswagen, Skoda, and SEAT electric vehicles are all built on the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform and share the same Type 2 (IEC 62196) charging port for AC charging. Whether you drive a VW ID.3, Skoda Enyaq, or SEAT Born, the cable for home and public AC charging is identical.

Single Phase or Three Phase?

The ID.3, ID.4, Enyaq and Born all support up to 11kW three-phase AC charging — but your home almost certainly has single phase (7.4kW). Single phase is perfectly adequate for overnight home charging.

Three phase is worth considering if you have a commercial premises, a new-build with three-phase supply, or if you regularly charge at 22kW public AC charge points and want to get the full 11kW the car can accept.

The GTE and PHEV models are limited to 3.6kW regardless of phase, so single phase is the only relevant option.

5M or 10M?

The charging port on VW Group EVs is on the rear-right of the vehicle on most models. 10M gives you the flexibility to reach the charger from any parking angle. 5M works if your wallbox is fixed and close to your regular parking spot.
