About Our Trailer Electrics
We supply the electrical parts that connect a tractor unit to its trailer — Suzi coils, sockets, plugs and power conversion for trucks, lorries, HGVs and agricultural trailers. 12V and 24V, UK stocked, with fast dispatch.
On 24V systems the lead colour tells you the circuit. The black N-Type lead (ISO 1185, 24N) carries the main lighting functions. The white S-Type lead (ISO 3731, 24S) carries auxiliary and supplementary circuits. Many combinations run both.
Modern trailers with electronic braking need the 15-pin ISO 12098 connection, which carries power and data down one lead. Fitting a lighting-only lead to an EBS trailer leaves warning lamps lit and functions unavailable.
Intermittent lighting, or EBS warnings that will not clear, are usually the socket rather than the cable. Water gets past a tired lid seal, the pins corrode, and resistance builds until the data lines drop out.
