Hyundai and Kia electric vehicles — built on the same E-GMP platform — both use a standard Type 2 (IEC 62196) charging port for AC charging. If you own a Hyundai IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, Kia EV6, EV9, or Niro EV, the cable you need is a Type 2 to Type 2 lead.

- Kia Sorento PHEV — Type 2, up to 7.4kW AC
All of these vehicles also support DC rapid charging via CCS2, but for home and public AC charging, Type 2 is the connector you'll use every day.
Single Phase or Three Phase?
Single phase (7.4kW): Suitable for the vast majority of UK homes. If your wallbox or public charger is 7kW, single phase is all you need.
Three phase (11kW): The IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, EV6 and EV9 all support 11kW three-phase AC charging. To get 11kW you need both a three-phase supply and a three-phase charger. If you're charging at a 22kW public AC charge point, a three-phase cable will allow the car to draw at its maximum 11kW rate.
For most home users, single phase at 7.4kW is plenty — a full charge overnight from empty is easily achievable.
5M or 10M?
The IONIQ 5 and EV6 charge from the rear-left of the vehicle, so if your wallbox is on the opposite wall from where you park, extra cable length helps. 10M is recommended for flexibility.
