What is a 24N socket?
On 24V systems the lead colour tells you the circuit. The black N-Type lead to ISO 1185 — also called 24N — carries the main lighting functions: side lights, indicators, stop lights and fog. The white S-Type lead (ISO 3731, 24S) carries auxiliary circuits. Many tractor and trailer combinations run both.
If your trailer uses electronic braking you may need the 15-pin ISO 12098 connection instead — see our trailer sockets and plugs range.
